Gordon Hofstetter Passes

gordonHoffsetterSalem – Gordon Hofstetter, born November 1, 1922 in Salem Oregon, to Hans and Della Hofstetter, passed away February 21, 2018 at the age of 95.

Gordon grew up in Salem working with his family in the dairy business. He worked with his father and brothers, Grover and Rodney at Curly’s Dairy from 1927 till the company was sold by the family in 1999.

Gordon graduated from Salem High where he was a track star. He attended Oregon State University until he left to serve in the army in WWII.

He married the love of his life Leona Rex on September 14, 1946. They were married until Leona’s passing in 2015.

He was President at Curly’s Dairy and Curly’s Ice Cream and Candy Store, and also worked with local business groups, the Committee and Cascade Employer’s of Salem.

He loved hunting and fishing especially duck hunting. He had many great days with his duck hunting buddies.

Gordon was proceeded in death by his parents, and brother Rodney Hofstetter.

Gordon is survived by his daughter Shari Carel and husband Jim of Keizer, daughter Kimberly Wilcox and husband Mike of Turner, grandson Michael Wilcox and wife Savanna and great grandsons, Trent, Luke and Logan of Salem. Brother Grover of Salem and sister Beverley of Federal Way WA.
