In this session we share sustainability perspectives and provide information to explain why U.S. Dairy is taking a leadership approach to sustainability.

We’ll also provide you with resources on how the industry can effectively communicate dairy’s sustainable nutrition story.

Meet The Speakers

Jennifer Block
Industry Outreach and Communications
Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy

Jennifer Block has been working on behalf of America’s dairy farmers for more than four years SVP Industry Outreach and Communications at Dairy Management Inc. There, she supports the work of the Innovation Center for U. S. Dairy, a forum initiated by dairy farmers through their Checkoff that is leading an industry-wide social responsibility plan to showcase the positive impact of U.S. dairy from farm-to-table.  As a member of an Illinois dairy farm family, Jennifer is passionate about using her 25+ years international business and communications experience to help align and promote the good work of the U.S. dairy community.

Joe McMahan
VP, Sustainability Initiatives
Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy

On behalf of America’s dairy farmers and Dairy Management, Inc., Joe McMahan oversees programs, projects, and partnerships to advance U.S dairy’s global leadership and the U.S. Dairy Stewardship Commitment as the primary platform for the U.S. dairy community to work collectively and transparently to demonstrate meaningful progress.  In this role Joe facilitates, informs, and advances the development of quantifiable, science-based sustainability metrics and alignment with globally-recognized standards, and collaborates across an array of industry and external stakeholders. Prior to joining the Innovation Center, Joe worked for The Coca-Cola Company as a sustainable agriculture program manager. He also worked in Indonesia on a sustainability-focused project with Mars, Incorporated, and spent four years in East Africa as a Peace Corps volunteer before becoming an agribusiness consultant, improving livelihoods for smallholder and subsistence farmers.
